stupid.

I hate everything.
I really do.
I just spent 11 hours in the mac lab. I saw no sun today. My back, head, arms, legs///EVERYTHING hurts.

8 out of those 11 hours were for this web design project.

I now have all the clips I need and all the small clips I want to turn into gifs ready to go.

I am not allowing myself to touch this project until our next class day. Because fuck this class.

I actually really do love this class though...sorry for the cursing.

Sad little update

So today I made all my title pictures, they change…following the song dubbed Freddy's theme song.
I made them transparent, yay!

I have everything I want in my pages planned out I just need to plop the text/gifs/pictures/videos when I acquire them.

I'm having trouble finding nightmare on elm street clips to turn into gifs. I even tried to rip my DVD into my computer but my computer is old and won't let me. Sigh. I don't know what I'm going to do yet. also I have no internet at home so it's not like I can work on it there over break.

ALSO, none of the pictures I pulled from the web will allow itself to be place into dreamweaver, I might have saved them wrong?

LOOK WHAT I MADE!

I feel great

first update about webpage I'm creating

Welp, web-design is difficult. I learned html codes in high school but I had a book to guide me along.
I've got questions for tomorrows class/lab hours.

I made my title in illustrator, it might change words once the viewer gets deeper into the movie…it's from the song after all.
I also took an hour to make the Freddy pop out thing that I want to incorporate in my web design. I used illustrator to make the outline and then I went into photoshop and messed around with the different brush aspects.  Unknowingly to the viewer, when they scroll over a specific spot, This little popup guy will appear. I thought it'd be a nice touch.
Of course I'll have to make him bigger but that will be done later on. I made the pop in this cartoony fashion because this site isn't supposed to be scary, it's supposed to delve into why the teenagers of the time flocked to slasher films, what were they looking for when viewing these disturbing images?

Oh yeah this is what it looks like so far. Really plain and boring but once I get some gifs made and video clips (which I'll have to ask how that is done) then I can compile the pages. Hopefully it goes smoothly.

Oh yeah, I messed around in photoshop to alter the background image which is of a boiler room, I felt like it fit ingot he theme and movie.

That webpage sucked

Respond to reading  and pick one section to analyze::

In truth I did not read this whole page of text intermixed with photos and videos. The page layout was too distracting, the left side would stay still while the right side moved and my eyes were being drawn to the right side of the page even if I was currently reading the left side. Anyway, I am choosing to focus on ‘Language of lol’. The writer says that everyone knows what ‘lol’ stands for. But honestly I knew some people who thought lol stood for ‘lots of love’ instead of ‘laughing out loud’. Also the infamous ‘smh’ could stand for ‘smack my head’ (face palm) or ‘shake my head’ (for shame).

She also says that the shorting of language that has occurred throughout the computer age can be seen as a 'necessary evolution'. I do not agree with her in the least I fee as though these words are taking away something human in us and replacing it with written words. I caught myself the other day saying the word sigh out loud rather than actual sighing. It was very weird when I noticed myself doing that. Also reading the shortened words is sometimes hard to understand and are a pain, it doesn't hurt to spell out the words people use.

Another thing I would like to bring up which may or may not be relevant to the topic at hand is that children are being introduced to technology at such a young age and with the shorting of words may pick up poor spelling habits. (I was taught how to type on a computer in the third grade, my spelling is horrendous. Thank God for Spellcheck)

AquaSixio

Cyril Rolando (AquaSixio or Six Inside) is a digital media artist that lives in France and works as a clinical psychologists. Drawing, for him, is a hobby. He uses colors over anatomic notions to expresses emotions. He started learning how to create digital artwork in 2003 and has grown over the years. For AquaSixio drawing is a form of therapy.

For his work I see colors, many shapes, and a minute attention to detail. He picks color over quality and I think that is perfectly alright. AquaSixio’s use of different shades of colors ranging from the lightest to the darkest colors are mixed onto the page in a way so that the viewer does not see it transitioning from color to color, they all blend together rather nicely but still stand out when needed.

These drawings are beautiful. I first came across his work two years ago when I first joined Tumblr and I was floored. The way he uses colors, animals, and ‘lost children’ (as he likes to call them) really touches me. When I look at his art work I feel what the characters in the piece feel. The colors chosen really allow ones mind to get sucked in and feel something. His artwork can make me cry and I think that is beautiful, being able to take someone on a journey like that. He doesn’t think of himself as an artist but if I were to actually become an artist I would want my art to be like his.

On his site he also has a retrospection of the past 8 years. through this you can see him grow and really become the artist he is today.
